An American businessman and philanthropist. Founding standard oil, he became one of the richest Americans of all time by literally every income source. Once retiring from his successful career through standard oil, he spent the last 40 years of his life as a philanthropist, creating many foundations which assisted in the advancement of medicine, education and scientific research. He is also the founder of the University of Chicago and Rockefeller University and funded the establishment of central Philippine University in the Philippines.
